If I were in your shoes I would consider ONE more factor ... if either car has had the 90K (timing belt, tensioners, waterpump) service done as we all know that is another big expense.

I recently bought a GS430 and can tell you this:

~ You'll kick yourself for NOT getting the sunroof because it is HUGE and the OEM controls are probably better than any aftermarket roof you can get. As for comment on wind buffeting at speed just do what Amul said and crack the rear windows OR use the tilt-up feature.

~ One thing to keep in mine with Factory Nav on a 99 is that it is HDD driven so you need to update the system by purchaseing a NEW HDD for the system .... I think the going rate for one of those is $300

thanks for the feed guys. I hadn't thought of that bossgs4. Maybe i can use that to talk the guy down a few more hundred. Does $13,300 for a 99 good condition gs300 with navi, sunroof, 6cd changer etc. sound about right? Is it a good deal or an average deal?

i say its average i got my blk gs300 for 9,900 with about 120,000 miles on it... i do have a lot of miles but its a lexus... but get the one with navigation you can get a converter and play dvd on it... i been wanting to do that but it cost so much to get the factory nav.

^^ did yours have sunroof and 6 cd auto change or was it pretty much stock?
