all you have to do in 430 is shift into 3rd with the shifter.
also, if you know how to drive a 430, the dbw is no prob. if the car is on the torque converter already before the launch, the 400 has no advantage, actually a disadvantage because the 430 has more torque.

the only advantage a 400 has is if say both cars are in D cruising and they both hit it at the same time. , the 430 takes a little longer to downshift. if both cars were locked in say second gear though, dbw is NO issue.

yep, I said the huge majority of GS have a moonroof... that would equal 99% yes? Just like how technically clothe is standard and leather is option... how many GS's have you seen with a clothe interior?

Like I said, a 430 is ~40-50lbs heavier than a 400 with both possessing a moonroof and that is due to the bigger engine, extra sound deadening, and other misc stuff.

As for the electronic throttle, one way to make it more responsive is to periodically reset it by disconnecting the battery... that combined with ect power mode definitely makes the 430 have a faster tip-in.

Didn't know about the full size spare on 98-00 GS's though, when I was checking out precertified 430s the dealer and parts guy told me supposedly the full size spare was a 01+ feature....

Where do you find other information about the GS? What other websites are out there?

As for resetting the computer...isn't there anybody out there that has broken the code so these ecu's can be programmed with what you want? IE Diablo, SCT, LS1 edit for chevy's. Nothing like that around for the GS?

The replies are great. Thanks for commenting. As I had said, I am not in a hurry, I have liked the GS since 98. I still need to do a few more finances to see where I sit.

As for the cars being that much different in speed I am not that worried about it. I have owned some quick vehicles and now I just want some luxury along with a good amount of power. The GS4 has always seemed to me like a nice combination of both.
