I don't know what to decide really. I painted it black, and it turned out ok. I think they would have looked better on red though.

Anyways, I just installed the rear strut bar couple days ago too. I really like it. Will be looking to buy a front stb soon.

I think they look good as is...black is nice and subtle, espcecially for your color GS. Did you notice a difference right away with the strut bar?

I have no idea, lol. I'm REALLY REALLY bad at describing suspension feel. I think the only real way to test it is to go to a road course and look at oversteer/understeer and lap time.

But since I installed it, I have taken turns and corners a little bit faster with no second thought

Black will be good. Red is for big brakes.

Well they are Supra TT brakes.

I painted the calipers red on my old Supra, and I loved it. But perhaps because the car was white.

I have mine painted red, but I have a white car. Here, take a look.

In that picture, the front tires are lower profile than the OEM tires for those rims. 225/45-18 is OEM size, but I'm running 225/35-18. I just picked up an extra set of G35 wheels today so I can have 8.5" wide rims on all 4 corners. Then I'm gonna sell all of the front 8" wide rims. More grip for turns and braking with 245 tires all round

One thing you're right about though, the paint on these rims is really bad. They chip and scratch like none other!

Hmmm I'd say depends on how much attention you want on just the brakes...

Black is the most unnoticed ... but I have mine gold on a black car ... (stock brakes)

another photo not smothered in a blue tint lol

Im not racing the car ... but looks good to me

i have an alpine silver GS and I painted my calipers silver to match. i have thin spoked wheels so seeing them when the car is spinning is very easy. looks pretty sporty if you ask me.

AGreed with thirdmotio.
Or: since it's already black, add the Lexus silver decal-both would look nice and clean.

I think red is good only in if comes in red already

Thirdmotio, love your CL 55

I definitely won't do Silver. I think that's a little too much. I guess I'll just keep it black for now as it looks decent. I might paint it red for kicks later down the road when the paint wears.

JeffTsai - I noticed you switch the rotors around in the two pics. Lol, did you just realize they were on the wrong way in between?

I have to agree with Cliffud & ThirdMotio. My GS is silver and I've seen plenty of silver colored cars with silver looking calipers like if the car just rolled out of the assembly plant. That's something I have planned to do since mine look dreary and dusty looking.

Yep- that is exactly why I painted it silver. Red is too fast and furious for me. Black is too subtle. Having the calipers match the car is juuuuuust right. (call me goldilocks)

I JUST went to the garage to take this shot.

I wish I had some rolling shots of the calipers behind the spinning wheels so I could show you what I mean- you'll just have to imagine it.

You have more visibility between your spokes than I do so I would definitely go with silver if you're rolling factory calipers.

By the way- think I need to lower it more? I feel like I'm rolling stock height with my CS!!

Quick Reply: Should I repaint the calipers red or leave them black?
