I don't know. When we bought our GS it didn't have the OEM wheels. We went ahead and ordered the rims through Lexus , before I found out about clublexus as I wasn't that much into forums for the Lexus' at least.
We did have a spare tire though and that was 225/55/16 so I just bought (4) tires in that same sizing.

225/55/16 and 225/60/16 prob isn't that much difference as it's only 5% of 225mm.

Yeah, I just double checked specifically for this thread, my 99 GS3 came with 215/60/16 stock. Later I changed it with 225/55/16 Pirelli 6000 tires and was not really happy with them on 1.5" drop until I went with larger wheels with245/40/18.

Lexus had two tires available for the GS 16s: 215/60 and 225/55.
It would. 215/60 was the biggest OEM wheel diameter for the GS. It is in between the other OEM diameters (including the 225/55 and the tires for the 17s) and the diameter most people use for 20s. Once you go to 225/60, you are at the same diameter as the 20s, i.e about 1" larger than OEM. It won't as "bad" as 20s since there is not as much metal but you will gain the 1/2" height clearance.

it's 4 tenths of an inch taller than the tallest oem. for comf winter tires like e wants, I don't think it's a big deal. also, your miles won't go up quite as fast.

All GS4s came stock with 225/55/16 (and 235/45/17 as an option). I believe 98-99 GS3s came stock with 215/60/16, but at some point (maybe in 01 or 02), the stock GS3 size was changed to 225/55/16 as well.

I ran some snow tires I had laying around last winter and they were 225/60R16's and they made the car look a little bit 4X4. It had to raise the car up between a half to 1 inch. I honestly didn't like the look. I was so happy when I put the A/S 245/50R16's on it this spring. I looked and I didn't take any pictures from the side with these tires on.

How bout these apples???
I just checked the tires on the OEM rims from my Sportdesign as I wanted to get a set of snows soon and they are 225 65 16's....the guy who owned it before me must have screwed up....they look like balloons....SO my question is...I have an Espelir drop which would probably be more significant with a huge tire, what size should I get??
