Default Anyone running 225/60/16?

Hey guys. Is anyone running 225/60/16 on the stock rims? I was just wondering if it would work and how it would look. Thanks in advance for any advice.

e

Mods -- I know this belongs in the tire forum, but a lot of the GS guys don't get over there too often, so I was hoping we could leave it here for a bit.

I was running on 225/50/16 once. Maybe it was tires, but the car was much noisier on a freeway, and even though the tires looked wider, the ride was much more floaty than on stock 215/60/16. But this is just my experience.

On my old GS 300, I was riding on 225/60/16, the noise wasn't that bad on the highway, very soft, but I was lowered on L-Tuned Suspension, I think I have a pic of the car somewhere...I'll look for you

I was actually thinking the same thing the other day. Will the car look like a rally car with those tires?

Thanks, alredxiii. I'd really like to see a picture or two. I'm sure the ride will be nice and comfy (which is a good thing), but I don't want it to look like I'm riding on balloons.

Eye sore!!! Just kidding. The rims looked small with that setup.

Yeah, that doesn't look bad at all. Without the drop, though, I wonder if it would look like a 4x4.

Mine was also lowered with those tires on Tanabe springs. Here are the pics:

Hey Lalex. Those pictures look pretty good. You said in your original post 225/50/16. Did you mean 225/60/16?

Thanks for compliment . Well, it was either 225/50, or 225/55, I don't remember exactly, but not 225/60.

Isn't the stock sizing 225/55/16? At least I think that's what I had on the stock 16" rims before.

stock 16s from 01 430 were 225/55/16. it won't look that different e, if anything it will fill the wheel wells a little more. knowing you and what you're after(comfort) I say go for it. you still have your 17s for summer.
