Cool Changed the oil in my 430 for the first time...

That is all Now I cannot remember totally but is the filter on the 430 in a diff spot than the 400? It took me no time (like 10-15min) to do this myself.

I guess outside Lexus techs, I'm one of the few to have done oil changes in the 400 and 430....

I know we have a 400 DIY, not sure if we have a 430 one but if we do not, I don't mind making one.

Castrol is my oil of choice.

I just did mine a few weeks ago too. I also used castrol, 5w30. You used a 90915-20004 filter, right?

Actually, i did mine last weekend and i used same filter as you. These are/were on sale, right?
Still expensive, seems to me. What do you think Chuck?

they are pricey, but they are supposed to be good, and they are oem quality and the filter that came on the car from Japan so I'll pay an extra few bucks.

After my first 2 free oil changes from Lexus(buying new car), I've been changing the oil myself. I use Mobile 1 Full Synthetic Extended Mileage. It's supposed to last for 15K miles between changes. I usually run this kind of oil for 5-6k miles between changes. Changing the oil really isn't that hard though. I've got it down so good now that I don't even drip any oil anywhere. I have a GS300, so it might be different than the GS4/430. On the 2JZ motor, the filter can be removed from the top of the engine bay so that also makes it quite a bit easier.

Castrol Syntec is the factory oil for BMW. It says on the oil cap "Castrol oil only". My first scheduled oil change with the X3 is 15k. I use Amsoil for the GS though.

Did mine a few weeks back and programed the nav to let me know when the next 3k is up on the maintenance tab. Very easy install I used Mobil 1 5-30 in all of my cars.
