Default possibly....... front STB for GS300 people?

Hey people and fellow GS300 owners.

Most of you know that it's very hard to find a front strut tower bar for the GS300. RMM isn't too appealing to many people, and Japanese companies like Juran, I.mec, and Carbing are not easily reachable by GS owners in the US and other regions.

However as many of you know, Steve at Carson carries UGO products. Among those parts there's a STB for GS400. Recently I was surfing through some Japanese websites, trying to use my Japanese skills to the fullest, and realized that UGO claims their STB will work on both JZS160 and 161, meaning GS300 owners can finally have a NICE LOOKING and WORKING STB!!

So let me check with Steve on this, and I'll let all of you know what's up. This COULD be the solution!

Default ...alternative

You guys could try the C-One strut bar. I don't know whats the clearance difference between a GS430 and a GS300 (with intake manifold cover). The C-One strut bar will clear the 430's cover with a little more room to spare. If anyone is interested, Steve Gan's price is $450.

BTW, I still have not figured out the advantage of the GS300's intake manifold cover. If the function is for looks I'd rather get the manifold and piping polished... IMO, way more aggresive looking than "putting a bag over your head."

who got you the C-One bar? Area 51? Or you did yourself? Or some other importer?

I think the intake manifold cover is purely for looks, and seriously it's not even that good. How much does it cost to polish the manifold?

I just got reply from Steve. A few people have gotten that STB for the GS300. They said it's close but it works. Anyone on ClubLexus have it on a GS300 and would like to share?

Default C-One

I got the C-One Strut Bar imported directly from Japan. It's at Area51 on display before going into my car.

About the polishing the manifold... go to Mag Masters in Santa Ana. Just don't drive your GS there or they'll up the price. But for a complete manifold to be polished like the XS Engineering IS, it's going to cost close to $100. Just set up an appointment, bring the manifold and should take no longer than 2 hours. Just remember this is cosmetic and not performance polishing... different catagory folks (extrude-hone or port and polish).
