Unhappy my lexus is sick...;-(

the car is not good after coming back from nurburgring...rear brakes went metal to metal very quickly after coming back from germany..apparently, the VSC must have been kicking in on every bend and braking the outside wheel!!!

that's the least of my worries..

1. excessive fuel consumption (have changed oil filter, air filter, plugs, tyre pressures are ok), am struggling to get 270 miles before empty light comes on, and thats in highway driving with 98/99 ron fuel! with regular 95 i get even less miles!

2. poor performance (especially at low speeds - failed to reach 60mph in allotted space when testing at the track recently) . i end up having to do full kickdowns on every journey just to get some power, which is not right!!

3. weird you almost feel a slight kick thru the gas pedal when lifting off the gas (as if it's engine braking - but we all know that GS don't have engine braking!)

4. pressing the gas pedal lighttly sees revs rise by 500rpm, but no increase in speed, even on flat ground. you have to push the gas pedal quite far down to get the car going, better in PWR mode but something's still not right

5. tranny shifts are now a bit jerky, with today there being a distinct "kick" between 2nd and 3rd. tranny fluid was changed a few months back. round the track, rather than use my brakes, i was changing up and down the gears using the gearshift..did that screw things up?

Your opinions would be most welcome. there have never been any CELs in the 12 months I've had the car, and it's now got 95k.

i know something is wrong as i've driven the GS when it launched in 98, and it didn't drive like this!

Get your car scanned for codes

Other than that, I am pointing fingers at your torque convertor, and that it's slipping a lot more than it should. Could be the reason why your engine RPM rises but the speed doesn't increase and your fuel consumption isn't as high as it should. Running around with track will put a heavy strain on your tranny, specifically the torque convertor.

my 2 cents.

got my codes...

P0100 - air flow meter circuit malfunction
P0110 - intake air temp sensor circuit malfunction
P0155 - O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction (bank2 sensor 1)

right, the guy cleared the codes, but the O2 sensor code remained, which means that's a definite fix needed.

I'm guessing that coz I swap blitz intake with OEM intake every month or so, that's why the first two codes came up?

regarding the tranny, the fluid is brown in colour, indicating burnt fluid. i think i might need a proper flushing..
