Default Removing a long *** ding from truck door

Well, I just got home and went to my passenger side when I notice a long ding / dent in the door. Some bastard in a truck (it had to be, it is long and narrow, from midway through the door to the top. The Ahole must have swong his door open with some nice force. Needless to say, I have soooooo pissed. At least I get to have my entire weekend ruined!

What can I do about this? Is it difficult and expense to remove something like this? Take a look at the photos. Unfortunately the camera cannot 'get' the whole damage, the crease just does not show up well.

pictures here

T,

feel your pain man. the link does not work, so i will do my best

if the paint is still intact, no damage, call your local dent master, or dent removal guy. they charge from $60-100 per panel. lightly run your finger nail thru the damaged are, if the nail gets caught as you try to glide thru, there could be paint damage. it all depends on how severe the damage is, otherwise the dent master guy is very good at this sort of mishap.

advice: not try to flame suv and truck owners, but i usually try not to park next to the taller vehicles. too much of a risk for my GS

Local 'dent master', is that a company or trade mark? If not, how do I go about finding someone who specializes in taking dings out?

GS4WILL, thanks for the information. I found out I have a local dent wizard only 5 minutes from my house. (www.dentwizard.com). Cost me $130, which of course I shouldn't have to pay because of some loser in a truck, but regardless, what a job!

I cannot tell at all that there was every any damage there. And the crease was pretty in there. What made it worse is that it went through the spot where the sheet metal angles at the top of our door. Anyway, great job, so there is my endorsement.

I just got an estimate for a 5 inch long dent on the left front quarter panel. No paint damage. Dent Wizard quoted me $219 which seems a little high but may not be? What do you guys think? Unfortuantely I don't have a pic of it right now.

p.s. Can you tell I did a little searching on the forum first?

Thanks for posting the results. I have a 9" horizontal crease in my rear drivers door (shopping cart?) and I've been afraid to take it to Dent Wizard without an endorsement. Of course, all the shops are different, but I feel a little more confident now.

ACF, Dent Wizard in Charlotte charges by the panel, so it sounds like yours is in two panels or is extra big. I've had very good results from the one on Independence.

If you have AAA, you can get a discount there of 10 or 15% I think. I might even have some coupons somewhere from my last trip, will look.

Thanks Dave, that's very generous of you.

I had my car appraised at the South Blvd. store as its close to where I work. I assume their policies would be the same...
