Chrome on front/rear bumpers...problem??.
Any other GS owners have a fading or oxydizing problem with the chrome on your front and rear bumpers? Only the chrome on my bumpers develop a whitish film over them...all other chrome pieces stay nice and shiney. I don't know what is causing it, but I can clean it up with Scratch-X. Soap doesn't do the trick.
I bought my GS used and always noticed this fading would happen a few weeks after cleaning...wonder if the previous owner replaced the front and rear chrome or even the whole bumper. I have notced signs of possible damage to the front of my car....though he told me it was never in an accident...carfax came out with no history when I checked before I bought the car.

the reason why the front and rear trim fade is because they are not actual metal but a laminated plastic unlike the side trim which is actual metal chrome trim. link to the original thread below
