Hit By Uninsured Driver
Going through a Wendy's parking lot today driving slowly behind a '93 Ford Explorer when the guy slows to a stop and then I see his reverse lights come on. I then stop and beep my horn like 3X's.Then I gave a long beep and he still was reversing and before I can put my car in reverse... SMACK!!! Although the damage ain't that bad, what gets me burned is this clown a** didn't have any damn insurance. This is now the second time that I've been hit by an uninsured driver. The first time I had a Mercury Cougar and the clown a** back then gave the cop some bull**** info on the police report. I tried tracking down the guy but to no avail so I had to dig in my pockets to pay for the repairs since I didn't have full coverage on that car. So today for this uninsured clown a** to hit my car and then offer me $100 for the damages.. Man I was like get the F*** out here!! I have to bring the car next week for repairs and it may not be ready in time since I'm getting my alarm/remote start installed too.

I feel ya man. I never got hit in my GS (knock on wood), but this biatch did hit me when I was on my bike, which totalled it.
Here's the messed up part, she had no insurance, driving on suspended license, AND she is bankrupt, So no money for me.

**** like this makes me so mad, I feel for you man. It's really f#$ked up that the legal system lets people sue for so many frivolous things but when somebody has clearly damaged your car and should unquestionably be paying for it, you can't get a cent out of them

Sorry to see the damage and hear it was by an uninsured driver. Not sure about your ins. co. but many will pursue him in civil court for the damages. If I remember correctly, I think in Alaska uninsured motorist get 2 days in the pokey if caught.

Hi all, I'm sending my thank you's to all who responded. GEICO says that they will go through subrogation which means they will try to retrieve the money needed to cover the costs since the guy has no insurance which may involve civil court. As for the guy, well his car was towed away within five minutes and hit with a couple of tickets and taken away by state police. I mean guys, although the damage is not too bad, when your the victim of an uninsured driver for a second time and being offered $100 for the damages, why try to settle this w/o going through the authorities and insurance company. Besides the grill, there's something behind it that was bent backwards almost touching the radiator plus the scratches. I don't think $100 will cover that.
