For those that have wondered what a GS400 weighs...
I know what a GS400 weighs with a half a tank of gas, full stereo, full interior, etc......
It weighs over 4200 lbs.....
At the track this weekend, I weighed my car on the track's scale. I knew she was heavy, but not that heavy. Although I knew I'd added a good bit of weight with the fiberglassing and stereo work, I would've never guessed THAT much. Mind you, I'm over 200 lbs myself BUT I wasn't in the car when it was on the scales either. So full "race" weight is even more.
Anyway, for any doubters and non-believers......here is a pic of the readout itself taken just this Sunday at the track:

I suppose, but fuel has a specific weight if I'm not mistaken. 6-6.5 lb/gallon if I remember correctly.
So assuming that my car has half a tank of gas, that would mean about that will only account for about 65 lbs at most.
Oil also has a general specific weight of something like 7-7.5 lb/gallon. So assuming I have 6 qts of oil or so, that means oil would be around 1.5 gallons or a little over 11 lbs of oil +/-.
Antifreeze is about 9 lbs/gallon, and I think we have about 2 gallons max in our system at any one time. That means about another 20 lbs or so.
Odds and ends fluids couldn't be more than another 10 lbs at most I'd guess considering brake fluid and power steering fluid and stuff are about as heavy as Antifreeze at best. I wouldn't say there's a gallon of either one of those two things in our cars at any one time, right?
So around 100 lbs +/- of other fluids are in our cars with half a tank of gas. 150-160 if the tank is full. Again all these figures are estimates, but even worse case scenario it puts the car at around 3800-3900 lbs fully filled.
That means I've added about 300 freaking lbs with all my stereo and mods.....
Again, I'd never thought it was that freaking much. I guess that could make a big difference in the car's performance.......
****I was bored so I went ahead and did this math exercise, so don't tear it apart as I did no research..... *******

Hameed, I'd never thought that either, but that's what the scale said. I really don't want to take out anything right now, although I'd like to redo my stereo in the trunk. Unfortunately knowing me, that means ADDING rather than subtracting....

This also explains why some people have more trouble than others with certain impromptu street races.
My GS4 has 0 stereo equipment and no spare so I tend to have it a little easier than others rolling on heavy chrome 20's with a couple hundred pounds of funk in the trunk.
Big sub boxes if made correctly are quite heavy. Amps are not light and neither are the subs themselves. Add some weight for the custom cosmetics and alot more wiring than stock of thicker gauge and you have your 300lbs.
