Can you read this dyno?
Stupid question, but this is confusing - can you interpret the dyno chart on this page http://www.swiftracing.com/vehicles/...take_gs400.htm ?
Which curves (starting at the bottom) represent the stock HP and Torque figures?
I am looking for a stock HP and Torque dyno chart to use as a reference for the dyno I am getting done this week - do you have one that is easier to understand than the one above?

I dynoed my GS400 3 months ago on mustang equipment, see below:
1. 2000 GS400
2.Milage: 88K
3.Engine Oil: Mobile 1 Syn. ( car needed oil change at that time)
4.Trans Fluid: Simple drain and fill, about year before i've dynoed (77K)
5.Heavy 19'' cast wheels
6.Fuel: Regular Premium gas (91 or 93 Oct. can't remeber) no fuel boosters, ect.
7.Exhaust: Completly Stock
8. SRT Intake with K&N cone filter
9.Little *** fan at the front of the car (fan wasn't even pointed towards right side of the car)
10.Closed hood
11.Outside Temp:80's, sunny day
Everything else stock
Total of 3 runs, consistent, third gear pull only
2 of them were at 235WHP
1 was at 234WHP
I can post dyno sheet if you want to......just LMK

I sure hope that there is a difference (read that as in an increase) in power because of the intake and exhaust, otherwise it will be such a letdown !
Appointment is tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 PM. Ambient temperature is supposed to be 50 Fahrenheit (or 10 celsius).

The dyno was kinda dissappointing......
A couple of reasons:
The shop did not have any experience running a GS400. They specialize in Mustangs.
The guy made me do the runs instead of him - his reasoning being that I knew the car better than him - which is probably true, however I have no experience running a car on a dyno, so that was kinda stupid. If I had known that I would be doing the runs myself, I would have gone elsewhere.
Anyway to cut a long story short I did 3 practice runs and then 3 more and I still didn't know how to apply the correct pressure on the throttle to maximise the hp reading even though I had the gear in M mode and eshift in 3 as advised by Glen.
I still couldn't master the art of applying enough throttle at the right times when accelerating so that it maximized the power.
Anyway, max RWHP was 230 and max TQ was 241 on my final run.
Considering my car is not bone stock at all (other than headers, done every single performance mod short of FI) I should have gotten better numbers.
The video turned out like crap as I had to give it to my son to tape (since I was doing the runs myself). The camcorder was zoomed in and he had not used the camcorder before and didn't know how to zoom out. So the whole video was just showing the rear wheels turning on the dyno.
I think if someone with experience doing this had done the runs, the readings would have been slightly better.
