Auto-dimming mirrors
Are the side mirrors on the on the 2g GS auto dimming as well? Or is it only the rear view that does it?

on my 01 GS the side mirrors are auto dim as well.

99 GS300 eurospec....sidemirrors not dimming either...

Just checked out the Lexus.com website. The '01 outside mirrors have the auto dimming feature. The main rear view mirror must be in the auto mode for this to work. For the outside mirrors to defrost, the rear defroster must be on. I didn't do any other searches for other years. However, the information is in your manuals.

Mine is auto dimming as well, I just checked it last night.

My 98 GS400 auto dims. When I back out of the garage, the mirrors seem to look kind of dark intitially, then gets brighter as it hits the daylight.

I have a 98 GS4. I don't know if it is auto-dimming but looks polarized?

I have a 99 GS3 and they do dim. I did have to replace the glass though. The electrochromatic feature kind of broke down inside the glass and the edges turned color and the rest stopped dimming.
