Hi all,
Just got a used 2004 GS300 with 34,000 miles on it. Had it for 2 wks now and love it!
Wondering if you veteran owners feel an extended 100,000 mi warranty is worth it? I bought one thru the used car dealer but I am having second thoughts about whether to keep it or not. It is thru Easy Care Vehicle Service Contracts. I have 2 more weeks to decide and still get a full refund on it. It cost me an extra $1000 for it and it has a $100 deductible for each occurence.
Appreciate any thoughts.
Thanks.

First of all. Is that extended warranty a bumper to bumper? Or just a drivetrain/powertrain coverage? Keep in mind the GS comes from the factory with a 30K 3yrs bumper-bumper, and a 60K or 70K powertrain warranty for 5-6 years. I don't remember the exact numbers, but it's somewhere around there. You should base your need for coverage depending on how much you're going to be driving the car over the next few years. My parents don't drive much and they have a 02' LX470 with 22k miles. On the other hand I have a 05' GS and I'm ticking around 19k!
If you don't plan to modify the car much then I would say stick with the warranty. If you do then screw the warranty. I know I've voided about half the warranty on my car already, and soon to be completely voided when I install my custom turbo setup. Also, don't say that you're not going to modify the car because you will end up doing so if you hang around here long enough!
Oh yeah, before I forget...welcome to the club!

Thanks Jeff for the info. It is a bumper to bumper 5yr (starts the day I purchased)/100,000mi. I drive about 15,000mi per year.
I wasn't planning to modify but you're right - with all the posts here - that may change.
Also thanks for the welcome!
