And after. For about $50, I think it makes a nice difference.

Nah, it wasn't hard at all. First you have to pry the old ones off. They are held on the exhaust pipes by a pressure ring. If you look inside the tips, you'll see what I'm talking about. Basically, you just need to get in between the tip and the exhaust pipe with a screwdriver and slowly work at it until the pressure ring loosens and you're able to pull off the tip. Putting the new one on is much easier. You'll need a rubber mallet to push it on the last few inches.

The much harder job was putting the old exhaust back on after taking off the L-tuned. I was pulling on the rubber hangers trying to pull them over the hook on the muffler and I tore the labrum in my left shoulder. This was on the same day that I took these pictures. After 2 years of on and off rehab, in November 2008, I had arthroscopic surgery. That was 6 months ago, and just last Thursday, after 6 long months of PT, I was finally given full clearance by the doctor to resume all normal activities.

The moral of the story? Don't pull on rubber hangers while lying on your back. The other moral? Put the rubber hangers on the hooks BEFORE you completely tighten the bolts on the flange that connects the mufflers to the exhaust pipes. I'm such a dumba$$ sometimes.

Suttle, but nice. I still got the stock tips from my GS430, replaced them with Magnaflow's.
