Picking up a 01 gs 430
Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and i would like everyone else's opinion I put down money on a 01 gs430 it has a clean carfax 104,500 miles also the guy added the 17 inch 06 gs rims and low profile tires. The price is $14,800. The car runs good, i wanted to know do you think this is a good price?

If the car is in good shape by ALL means P I C K I T U P !!!!!!!! Have it inspected first by your local Lexus dealership, make sure they do the expensive check up (it costs $230+). There is two and I know that the other one sucks a** (cheaper inspection) and doesn't go in depth with the cars current condition and history.

Yea the car is in good condition, the interior looks remarkable, like no barely sat in the car, the exterior is good and he has the records of everything that was done to the car by lexus dealers and receipts.

How many owners ?
Do you have the FULL history or just the history since the seller has owned it ?
I would listen to SoCal_VIP's advice ...... take it to a Lexus dealer (not Toyota) and ask them to do the detailed pre-purchase inspection (the same kind they do to Certify a Pre-Owned car) you never know what could be found ........

haha if you don't end up picking it up..let me know I'll be more then happy to upgrade for that price. I have my eyes on a blk/blk 02 430 for $21k...but for that price I'll take the extra mileage anyday...

^^ haha its mine!! it has 2 owners i have the full carfax history, Thanls socal and bossg4 i think i will take it to the lexus dealer so they can run that test before i take it off his hand. Here are some pics:

I just purchased a 02 GS430 blk/blk with nav and in mint condition for $22,000 with only 12,000 miles on it. The spedo says 62,000 miles but when i took it to the Lexus dealership they pulled the history on it and being a one owner car with all the service done by Lexus. After reading the history report on it, we seen at aprox 50,000 miles the owner replaced the entire short block V8 engine for price of $13,000. Somehow they drove it without oil, their loss is my gain

I wonder about the non-stock wheels and interior that looks like nobody has been in it. What happened to the OEM wheels? No creases in the leather that is 100K miles old?
Could be a super car, but please be wary.
