Default GS430 MPG help

Hey Guys,

Just joined the family with an 01 GS430. On the freeway drive home, I got about 22.9 MPG. Since then my next tank which I had 90/10 City/Highway netted about 14.48 MPG. Is there something wrong or something I should check out? I don't have a lead foot either. I was expecting to get ~17-18 MPG. My trip meter only went to 230.3 mi before I had to fill 16 gal. Any input guys??

thanks

I have an 01 GS430 and I get anywhere from 265 - 272 miles on a full tank of Super (93 Octane) with the occasional scoot of the traffic light ..... drving is combined highway/traffic

If you try to keep your RPM below 2400-2200 in city driving conditions, than you should be able to get 17-19 MPG. Thats what it used to be out of 1 gal. of gas in city
I'm getting better gas milage than you, about 15-16 in city, note that i have 3.76 LSD which cuts my milage down a lil bit

Nah....The only thing i know coz i tested myself is SRT+ECU Intake still have it on, gave me at least average 1-(2maybe) more miles out of 1 gal. of gas when i drive conservatively in the city.
There is not much you can do about that, unless you change your driving habbits
Also, when it gets colder than your MPG is greatly affected

Rutine maintenance is a key as well, like:
Tire pressure, tires it self, engine-tranny oil, all fluids, injectors, air filters ect. all of these or some of them might have negative effect on your MPG, but i dont think that by doing all of it will bring your gas milage from 14 to 17-18

Driving habbits is the key, i think.....what you CLM's think?

Just noticed that my mpg just has taken the annual winter dive - losing about 2mpg due to winter gas.

Some guy on here reported 470 on a single tank of gas, that's just nuts!!

I usually see 14-16mpg.

I'll get 275 out of a tank with a 15 gallon fill up which is about 18 per gallon... I do like to watch the current fuel economy screen to see how high I can get it to go for how long.

I did get 340 out of a tank once but with almost all freeway with out stop and go.

The so cal challenge is all about the stop and go and hills for me.

Default Mileage

I get an average of about 320-340 miles per 15 gallon tank. Anywhere from 18 (if I am really mashing it) to 23 MPG if I just driving around obeying all speed limits. 98 GS400 w/ 120K miles

I average 13.5 MPG all city driving. I do have a quicker rear end and I do drive hard most of the time . I only dream of 17 MPG.

you're actually good to go. I do 90/10 also, but i'm getting ~13mpg. I guess it's a socal city thing. Lots of stop and go. I drive low (revs are always ~2k rpm when accelerating, and about 1600 RPM when cruising)
