2JZ GTE Swap
Whats up?
Im sure its been discussed and I did search, but couldnt really find anything.
I've been thinking about swapping Aristo engine into my car. So just wanted to know the basics. Is it difficult? manual trans swap possible? do i have to sacrifice AC and stock cluster? and anything else I should to know please do share.
Also would you reccommed any shops in the Northeast/ Midwest?

AC will work fine, cluster doesn't need to be changed, you can go 6spd is you like but it will just cost a little more for that set up. You have 3 options, you can go gte 6 spd swap(detuned and another member with a wite gs have, or gte auto swap non vvt-i(i did this and jay) or you can go gte auto vvt-i swap like burton, burgandy gs, mikal. All autos are a 4spd auto.
If you search under members Mikal, burton, bluelex, burgandygs, jay, detuned I might have forgotten a few others you can find some really good info. Good luck.

It's easier to keep it Automatic. The VVTI 2jz-gte was a direct drop-in.
All i had to get done was a custom downpipe and a custom drive shaft. which didnt cost much. (i had to do this because my stock GS300 flange didnt mate up to the aristo tranny)
Everything works fine. You would need to tap a wire to get the tach to work.
If you are to do this swap, be sure to get the FULL CLIP. Or else it'll take you months and months to find missing parts
