Purchase of 2000 GS300
I'm thinking of buying a 2000 GS300.
The car looks to be in good condition, but at 112000 I'm concerned about the long term reliability, specifically the gear box. Should I be?
I also want to keep this car for quite a while, so I'd like some feedback as to the potential problems areas from a maintenance standpoint and anything specific that I should be aware of. I'm pretty comfortable doing repairs myself and would hope a car of this quality could easily make 200,000 with a bit of TLC and preventative maintenance.
However, that's just an opinion so any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I would say, just go for it, hell this car can go to 300,000 if you want it(with proper service that is).
Only thing is try and check the radiator head, the plastic is supposed to be black, when it turns brownish in colour its time to change the radiator head,
if i were u, i would also check the abs system, other then the auto tranny, the abs should be the 2nd biggest problem
bottomwise would be indestructible(as they say) but do take caution on the valve guides, they might need replacement - though depend on usage of the previous owner.
other then that, gdluck and have a try
