Default Removal

After you remove driver or passenger side instrument panel, this is how you get to the servo motors--so this comes after BO-93

There is nothing fun about taking the entire dash apart. If that's what it takes to fix that... Then I'm good with just leaving it cold on one side of the car. Or... I could tear the dash apart and fix the Evap leak at the same time... Might as well if I have the entire dash off...

The passenger side is not difficult at all, once you get into the glove box it's all screws and bolts. Had I known it may have been both servo motors I would have changed both while I was in there so I have no problem going back in. I'm looking for confirmation before I go in and spend another $100+ on a dealer only part--we really need proper diagonosis on what causes these cars to suddenly blow cold air!!

i was getting air no problem, it would only blow down(foot setting) or defrost--even when it was set to blow out the vents it would blow defrost. So I diagnosed that problem as the air/mix servo--it controls the bi-level functions. As you know with our cars you can't operate the directional settings seperate from each other, only the temperature so the air/mix controls both sides. I don't think these go very often--the temp situation seems more prevalent than the directional problem. Now there are two servos on the passenger side and the other one seemed to be working so I didn't think there was a problem with it. I may be totally wrong, our temp problem could not be servo related, it could be something else. When I was working on the car it wasn't cold out so I never ran it long enough to determine if the air coming out was heated, I was just happy there was air coming out the vents and all the different level settings were functioning after I changed that particular servo. So like everyone else, my car is like that McDonald's burger from the 80's...hot side hot, cool side cool...

Morris it'll be the labour that kills you on the driver side, probably minimum 3 hours to pull apart and put together the dash...just a guess

I can't believe no one has a fix for this? Probably due to the extremely mild winter we are having so it's not a big issue but I'm guessing it effects your A/C also? Not as cold as it should be on whichever side you're having a problem with? Is that the case with those who are having the heat problem? Just wondering...D

Wow, I was just wondering if I was the only one who had this problem. I just recently started using my heat frequently and noticed this problem. But I also am not sure what to do.

During cold weather when you want the heater on do you all turn off the A/C button or just leave it on all the time?

I leave my A/C on and set the temp, I'm guessing the A/C compressor doesn't kick in until you drop it down into the 60's, anybody know any different??
