my 530i for the GS430!

To me either you want a true luxurious comfy car, or a sport/speed daemon. I not crazy about cars that try to do both. You end up with not being happy in either case.

I have driven a audi,2 BMW,Lexus,MB,and 3mitsubishis but
personally, my fav is the LX in SUV but the 5series in sedan.
So go with the BMW

+1 none of the Lexus can match the 5 series. If horsepower is the only compelling advantage for the GS, I would take the 5.

Pay off as in paying off a lease? I would just keep the car for financial reasons. It would cost more to maintain the bmw, but you would lose more money right now if you trade it for the lexus. But I digress.
I do have to admit that the 530/gs300 can be a nightmare sometimes when taking off from a dig. The power from the 430 is very nice, but it's gonna needat least trd sways and tein CS coilovers to bring back that bmw feeling.
You can always go beyond by getting front and rear lower chassis braces (lcb), 6-link for the rear a-arms, and some front and rear strut tower bars (stb).

It might not be fiscally responsible, but following your heart rarely is. Get the GS.

I guess looks, reliability, sound system and ***** mean nothing to you. ***** in the case of the I6. 540 is equivalent but the 6-speed stick takes the cake in that category. In my area the GS is much more exclusive than the 5-series which I really appreciate as well.

Sell your Bimmer and wait for a better GS 430. The BMW has a little bit longer before it starts to fall apart (especially the I6) but the Lexus will be cheaper down the line to maintain.
I was about to buy a 540I but was just worried about saving for college and keeping the car in running shape. The GS 430 lets me have fun when I want and not sweat over when the fun will end!

I would never do that trade. Keep the 530. Bimmer inline 6 is one of the best motors in the business...Rock solid That car also has less creaks moans and groans than a 2nd gen GS as it ages, and has better build quality imo. Drive both cars on your favorite backroad with curves & bumps to compare.
