2GS FAQ: Tint thread (add your tint pics and details here)

I've gotta get my GS tinted this week... it's getting hotter in ATL every day. Anyway, did some surfing and there's a brand called Huper Optik that I never heard of...
Does anyone have any experience with it? Know of anyone who has it? Supposedly it blocks more heat causing light but visually the tint is not a dark as standard tint.
I basically want to know what colors it comes in, does it visually look better than standard tint? Price? Thanks guys...

I just found out today this make of tint film on my car since I had to replace the tint on the rear window since I scratched it by accident. The tint guy charges 60 bucks on average for 3m and solar guard 35% tint. The cost to replace just the rear window with the huperoptik film is 125 bucks To do the whole car in that film would run about $400. It does look different than the average 35% tint film in that it is a lighter hue and has a reflective quality to it. The car feels really cool inside during the summer heat.. I should of taken pics of the replacement job, but here is a close up pic from my gallery..

My cousin did my tint back in 2000 when he had a shop here in NYC

Dunno if I am allowed to ask questions in this thread...but better than making another thread right?
Anywho, my question is this. I had my friends brother (who has good reputation of tinting on our local forum) give me an estimate for a 35% tint on 5 windows (all windows minus windshield) and he told me 135, not a bad price. But he said its a PITA to tint our GSs because "the seals are tight and the back windows in lexus' have fatter than normal defroster lines which make the tint not stick to completly". Now is this true? If so, I'm thinking about getting it done w/ Zeibart or somewhere who has lifetime guarantees.

Getting tint done, opinions please
I'm taking my car in on Monday to get the windows tinted. Im going with the Llumar tint, I plan on doing:
50% front windshield
35% side windows
20% rear windshield
What do you guys think about this. I dont want it too dark b/c I still want to be able to show off the saddle interior. I was quoted $265 to do the tints. That fell in line with other businesses quotes. It was suprisingly hard to find a place that would do the front windshield for me, and they are charging me more just to do it (which is understandable). I was just looking for you alls opinions on whether or not these percentages would look ok. Thanks in advance.

You really mean the front windshield huh? Not front windows? Is 50% for the front windshield even legal in Kansas? Just want to make sure in case you get a ticket. If you want to showoff your saddle interior and still protect your leather and keep in-cabin temperatures still cooler than w/o tint, I would probably do 50% all around.

50% on the windshield is perfectly fine. you could even go down to a 43%, but probably not recommended.
as far as the sides go, if you dont want to go too dark, i'd suggest a 32% all around instead of going two different shades. I think it looks better that way.

im going to precision tint, they're located off of santa fe, right behind santa fe auto sound. supposedly the best in the city, and like i said, one of the few who would actually do my front windshield. and to those who were asking, it is illegal to have the windshield tinted in kansas (as im sure it is in all states) but where i live the cops dont bother with those things, atleast i hope not

I'd keep either both side windows 20% or 35% I hate mixed and matched tint. Also 50% on the windshield is perfect. I'm going in to get 40%, while 3 of my friends have 35% with 3% on the windows. CRAZY dark
