I have a question about tints.

Would you guys recommend the Llumar Axcess 30% tint for $299 (with warrenty)? or the F1 Pinnacle 35% tint for $399 (with warrenty)?

The Llumar has 44% heat reduction, while the Pinnacle has 50% heat reduction. I hear great things about the Pinnacle, though. Plus, I live in TX. The high's has been around 102 degrees...

Default My 2GS needs tint bad - does this sound legit?

I asked a local guy about brand and warranty, and he said:

"Hi their I use Eclipse Johnson 3M maddico and exspress films all lifetime warantys. They are 2mm metalized films."

Are these good films? Which one's better?

The guy quoted me $200 for 35% all around the car (no windshield). He has 11 years experience, per him. I want straight black, not where it looks somewhat silver-reflective.

Thanks!

It seems pretty standard pricing. As far as the tint quality itself it seems fine. Can't go wrong with lifetime warranty.

i think you answered your question... after all it's only $50, and a respectable brand.

Price is fair I would say. As far as the lifetime warranty make sure that HE is going to be in business to honor it in the future should you have an issue.

i used Johnson's Metallic 45% film before. Nice quality and did not interfere with NAVI on my 2IS.

$200 seems kind of spendy these days and I say this because I work for a dealer and know 4 tinters very well that have tinted for 14+ years. My friend bought a GS last week(I talked him out of a G35) and my one tinter friend is doing it for $175....and that includes the windshield.

Exactly your tinter friend, that's why the lower price not that that's a great at only $25 less. Anyways $200 is a fair price.

FYI.. When i had my 2IS tinted... everything except windshield, it was $40.00. This was because he was a friend of a friend. HA!

Just FYI how much material costs are... no more then $40.00 for sure!

Not totally true. I'm the guy that just bought the GS. I called around and got a rate quote of $175. I asked our buddy if he'd match the price. The breakdowns are all different but he wanted 100 for the car and 75 for the windshield. I ended up paying him 200 and he did the windshield with a visor and the moonroof.

Sounds about right to me, I had 35% in the front and 20% in the rear done with Johnsons Luminar tint and it was $140 w/ lifetime warranty.
