I got 35% on my gs and i am in NY. Had my tints for bout a year and no problems with police.

 

lol, i like dark and i want darker actually cause with my tan interior it doesnt seem dark enough for me. soon i wanna go to my dr to get a form allowing me to go darker

i got 5% on all the side windows, 35% on the front windshield, and 15% on the whole back window! the pics are over 2 years ago, from the day i got my tint done (which is why there are bubbles in the back windshield)

I have 5 percent all around besides the front windshield and I love it

 

had 20 all around for 3 years and finally got pull over like 3 months ago and got 380$ticket, i didnt wann pay th ticke so i decide to pill off the tint and go to court, i went their with out tint just left the 2 rear pellers windows that dont go down, and i still had to pay 100$ fee!!! ** cops/popos!now i want like 30% 35% after you tint the car post up pics please Thanks

 

i have 5% in all but the windshield. i got a ticket yesterday for it, but i opted for the fine instead of having it be fixable. i dont wanna have to have it taken off and then put back on.

 

Ive had 5% on all my cars. My last GS I had 5% all around, No problems. My new GS I just got 5% all around, And im gonna go 35% on the front windshield and i'll be good.

Funny thing is I have my Escalade tinted 5% all around and 35% on the front windsheild....We got pulled over just the other day for my smoked license plate cover lol. I thought that was pretty stupid.....But Im pretty sure he was hoping I was riding dirty! Sorry my **** is all legit!

He made me take it off or take a ticket....I pulled it off right there and he let me ride! Hatin' *** cops!!

 

Just wanted to add that depending on the tint; it can interfere with GPS reception. I took out the receiver on the roof and it pick up the satellites right away.

 

hey everyone, I wanted to know what % tint people has on their GS and why you chose it. I have a 03 gs3 with black ext. and saddle int. I was thinking about either 35% all around except windshield or 50% except windshield. I live in CA and know that front driver and passenger windows are illegal to tint. Hopefully the 50% is light enough for cops to not bother me. What would you all recommend?

 

i got mine 20% in the front and 15% in the back . i got black on black . but im about to go get it all 5% ..i really want to find the MB s550 tint the mirror looking one ..the reason is so no one can see what happing in the car or what i have in the car ..with the tints i got now i had for 2 yrs and only got a ticket once cuz it was the end of the month cop didnt even use a special tint % meter thing when she wrote it out so im going to say not guilty and beat it

 

in NJ it is illegal to have the front two windows tinted.. and you can go as dark as you want on the rear... so i did 20% in the rear half of the car and 50% in the front... it doesn't look that bad and i haven't had any hassle yet from cops... I have ivory interior so it really makes the tint look lighter than it is too...

 

New York state its the same thing.

It's illegal to have anything less than 70% in the front (Basically no tint)
And you can go as dark as you want on the rears since they are considered privacy windows.


But in actuality I have 20% all around.

I'm not sure where you live OP but a nice light colored tint would look good on your car in my opinion
But the reason I have darker tints is for security purposes.

 

I am using 20% tint in front sides windows (the darkest allowed in TX) and 5% on rear windows plus rear windshield (limousine type one). I would suggest you putting darker tint on rear windows so just in case u put any valuable things in the car it cant be seen from outside. and it somewhat makes the interior colder when u park ur car under the sun. protects the leather seat from cracking as well.
