Default New member, couple of questions

Well not exactly 'new' but I lurked for a bit but now im here lol. I have a couple questions about the GS300's reliability. I have found a nice used '98 here local that has approx 120k miles on it. The owner says all the maintenance was done about 9K miles ago so its good to go. I guess what im asking is, are the transmissions fairly long lasting or should I be wary of that mileage? I know the 2JZ is a rock so im not worried about the engine. Is there really anything I should look out for, even though it is a Lexus?

Thanks

i'm usually concerned about maintenance... what kind of maintenance was done? and did it include flushing of oil, diff, tran, power steering, antifreeze... cuz i just did those to my car and the stuff that came out was just digusting black and horrible... but my acceleration is a lot better now, engine's more responsive, and i got great piece of mind... feels better than when i first got it used... set me back $700 tho...

^Thanks. Been a member of Supraforums since '01 but as of late ive been looking for a Lexus as a daily.

As far as the maintenance goes, im guessing the seller means the usual things like the timing belt, water pump, seals etc. I haven't actually talked to the seller but the car just really caught my eye.

Check to see whether the ball joints have been replaced or not too .
