Default HID Question

You light setup is nice. But I have a couple questions.

Your car seems to be fitted with the factory HID setup. I have a 99 GS with the older halogen setup, no HIDS.

1.) Can I get the same look with HID-styled halogen bulbs? I do NOT want to do any king of HID swap in my headlights or my fogs. But I want the look you have. I currently have clear fogs and want a good yellow bulb.

2.) What kind of side marker and bulb are u using. Looks nice!

Thanks bro

hmm.. cliffud.. how do you take pics at night?
mine came out kinda blurry..
here's pics of my foglight.. there's 4 of them down there..
a pair of projectors Hids ( foglights)
and another pair of HIds ( driving lights )
BTW I only use the driving lights whenever the road is really dark where there's no street lights.. eg: mountain
or whenever it's raining "cats & dogs"

yup.. it once saved my butt too.. one time I came home around 2 am and it was raining real hard.. I was going around 60 mph when suddenly I saw something kinda glowing in the distant.. when I got closer I realized there's an accident ahead , I immediately hit the brake hard and everybody else behind me also stopped hard.. it must have happens minutes before I got there,
the lights saved us from " chain accidents"
thanks to my HIDs.. the reflectors from other cars shine brightly
(ever notice while you're driving in dark roads.. you can see highway signs more clearly?)

yep- HID fogs are the way to go...

6HIDsGS300- I actually use a tripod to ensure the camera is steady and setup the camera for a night shot. the best tripod deal i could find was $30 at bestbuy and it is super light. the drawback is it's only 5 feet tall.

i actually just swapped back to 4300k whites... I actually prefer the all white look. oh well. it's ok though - swapping them over takes like 5 minutes.

I'll swap them over again whenever I go over to the parent's house to pull one of their fogs.

mikal - i just realized that the rainbow on the ground is from the foglight housing. after swapping to the 4300k fog lights i noticed the rainbow more.

I like the setup where you just have the fogs on with the DRLs. How did you manage that. I did that but my fuse burnt out on me so I didn't want to try it again.

thanks

nanotech - i have two HID kits on my car - one for lows and one for fogs. Since I run dual hid kits, all I had to do to control just fogs on is fool the car into thinking the fogs were the low beams and the low beams were the fogs.

this was easy because both kits have a plug into the factory bulb plug and all i did was switch the plugs.

so - fog light kit goes to headlight plug and fog light plug goes to headlight kit.

So when i turn on my normal lights - all i get are the middle lights and the fogs. when i turn on my fogs - my low beams turn on.

easy peazy fo sheezy.
