I have had steering wheel volume controls on previous cars and it is extremey convienient, especially if you listen to a broad range of music and just don't let one particular CD play. If anyone is selling their volume control, please PM me... cash waiting... Thanks.

your car is a 2003 without steering wheel volume control? seems like a luxury car that year should have that. what year did they make that standard?

lazy? isn't that the purpose of a luxury car? if a 2003 honda has steering wheel controls, a 2003 lexus should have it too.

The easiest solution is to train a small squirrel to change the volume for you based on a series of clicking commands, like 13 clicks for up, 18 clicks for down, and 3 clicks to stop. Since the glove compartment is large the squirrel can live there and you can just put in a pet door.

My car is modded out with over 18 squirrels to work the functions not already powered by Lexus. I like the swiveling headlights the best.

chuckb - i'm glad that i have a veteran that agrees that this option is very convenient. i missed the part where you said it was only in the 430s.

for everyone else - i don't understand why people are getting at me for asking this question. i asked for information and all i'm getting is pointless responses. i get this guy (according to his signature, drives on the sidewalk) talking about training squirrels..what are you talking about?

also, i don't go off on people who start polls on what color they should paint they're calipers (what's the purpose of that?) or people who get bigger rims and have to upgrade they're whole suspension system.

i'm just some guy that would like to add volume controls to my steering wheel. i don't want this to turn into one of those threads where people argue with each other.

I hear where you are coming from ..... I posted about this back in oct/nov because I just got an 01' but due to the cell phone option in the car I don't have volume controls. I do use the steering wheel controls to switch the source and stations/tracks often, I would use the Volume controls if I had them. Since I got no responses regarding retrofitting the volume controls I asked if another phone cradle could be installed since I don't have Sprint or have any intention of getting their service just for the car. I got no substantive replies to that question either.

Since your question was already answered I wanted to add some humor to the thread. If that was not obvious I apologize.

It's all in good fun guys (I think)

My serious post was in my original post. At any rate, I don't think it's worth going through all that hassle even if it was possible. End doesn't justify the mean, one bit.
