What do you mean installed. Don't all GSs have that stock?

ohh, now I see. Well, I can't imagine how hard it would be to add the steering wheel controls. That would require a great deal of wires that need to be run.

If you look at the volume **** on the radio interface, it's analog. It's not digital. Therefore it'd be quite hard to reuse the same HU, unless you were to upgrade to the newer HU also.

put an aftermarket HU in, and if it has a remote, you could attach that somwhere you felt comfortable... just an idea

It's not impossible. My Lincoln LS that I just traded in last weekend had analog volume controls and also had very well placed steering wheel controls.

To this day, I still reach for the controls on the steering wheel of my GS3 just to realize it's not there.

Nothing is impossible my friend. Like I said, since it's analog (lack of a better term?), you'd have to incorporate a device that will manually turn the **** somehow.

With all that work, it's stupid. How often do you turn your volume up or down anyways? I set it at around 9 o'clock and leave it at that for weeks at a time, unless I'm changing CD's. Then I'd have to adjust the volume accordingly.

actually I use the radio controls on my GS all the time. besides adjusting volume, you can turn on the radio, mute, and switch from radio to cd or change through the 6 cds.

I'm pretty sure I use it a lot more than I would e-shift. besides, I don't mind shifting myself the old fashioned way.

I really want to do this mod. There was a guy on here that was going to sell me his volume control, but I haven't heard back from him. I have never used my e-shift (well, only once, just to make sure it worked before I purchased the car). I have had steering wheel volume controls on previous cars and it is extremey convienient, especially if you listen to a broad range of music and just don't let one particular CD play. If anyone is selling their volume control, please PM me... cash waiting... Thanks.
