Default Vais install pictorial. Illiterate friendly...

I'll probably post some text later in the week to accompany the pics, but these pics may be of some help to those who ordered from Vais. This was a lazy man install. It was done in under an hour. I will be getting a full aftermarket Nav in a few weeks, so this was just to hold me over. I did not want to modify my car in any way and I wanted easy access to the Vais unit.

You may not have to use a pick tool in order to remove your panels above & below the radio. I believe when I removed my panels, it was the first time since the car was built, so it was a little tight. You may be able to remove by pulling straight back.

So basically, this just allows the integration of an Ipod correct?

I've been thinking of making this upgrade as well but I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep the stock head unit. ....I may switch to an aftermarket head unit to increase the sound quality (I don't have Levinston in my Sport Design).

Correct, allows integration of the iPod. I basically started this thread because there were a bunch of people who purchased from Vais with the recent group buy. I will be swapping my headunit for a full aftermarket nav unit as well, but figured when I sell my Vais, I couldn't lose because the group buy price was decent.

I dunno. I have been searching and reading almost every iPod+GS related topic and this one seemed the most helpful...but the picture links are dead!

if you want to keep the HU you can get a clarion EQ/crossover unit which have a built in aux input for your ipod or any other type of mp3 player.
