Before I give my car to my brother, Im making sure theres absolutely nothing wrong with it.
I have headlight condensation, this is after I bought a 2002+ set from somone on the boards who claimed there was no fogging/condensation. sure enough, rain came and its there.
i took both out, and siliconed the seal all around, tightened all the screws.
this is what I am concerned about...
On each headlight, there are 3 ventilation ports.
What I did is i just sealed all 3 of them off.
Assuming that both my headlights are now completely sealed from the outside, will this hurt my headlight system?
I mean, will it overheat, or burn, etc... Is there somthing about those ventilation ports that are absolutely necessary?
I just sealed all 6 holes, if needed, I can take off the seal on 1 or 2, I believe these ports are the root of the problem in the first place.
Please give me input. Thanks

I think the vents actually prevent condensation. The condensation occurs due to temperature difference inside and out and I think the vents are designed to prevent that. I noticed that one of my headlights fogs sometimes after rain or carwash and it just happens to be the one that has a pinched vent tube.
