Help! How to re-synchronize power windows/door locks after battery was disconnected?
Help! How to re-synchronize power windows/door locks after battery was disconnected?
I picked it up today from the bodyshop. They probably had
the batter disconnected when working on the car...
(removing the antenna, door panels, etc, for re-painting)
Now the driver's side window will not do one-touch down/up...
Also the windows/sunroof cannot be operated by tuning the
key manuall in the key hole of the door...
The owner's manual's manual had no info on this...
Thanks for any help!

That doesn't sound like it's cause by disconnect the battery. I have disconnect before and after reconnect, I only have to reprogram the seat memory and radio. You better check with the dealer, it might be something wrong with the chip programming (dealer can fix this easily). Or it might be some physical wiring damage.
Good luck, hope you get it fix soon.

I also had my power disconnected ( 2-3 hrs. ) and didn't have the problems you are having . I think something else is wrong .
Take it to the dealer to get checked out .

Sleepybobcat,
It really sounds like you have a computer problem. I would have the dealer investigate this condition very quickly because you really dont know what else does not work and you do not really want to find out either (I'm talking items like airbags, ABS, VSC, etc which are pretty critical to your well being) Furthermore, if the bodyshop screwed something up, I would go back to them pretty quickly and start complaining (The more you delay, the harder it is going to be for you to convince them that they need to be accountable for damages...I dont even want to guess what a new GS computer retails for....I'm sure not cheap however...)
Anyway, I hope I'm wrong and your car's computer is still OK but the symptons you describe indicates pretty serious electrical trouble.
Good Luck!

hey
Hey,
I doubt its a computer problem dude or ure whole car might not even freakin work..I had this same problem while putting a custom cd player in my car....my dome lights, clock, and radio power went off...and I checked the owners manual..it was a blown fuse..Id check the fuse before paying extra for nothing other than a damn fuse.

Thanks for everyone who replied...
Fortunately, it turned out to be a connector that was not
plugged back in snugly while the bodyshop was putting the door panel
back.
The Lexus dealer's bodyshop manager sent a technician out to my home. He removed the door panel and plugged the connector
back in and made sure everything worked. Took him only 5
minutes...(the roundtrip driving was 90 minutes!) Talk about
excellent Lexus service!!!
