Just wondering, I have a chance to buy a 98 es 300 with 71,000 miles. Paint is in great shape, interior is clean, runs nice for $15,500.00. Is this a good price? Is there anything else I should look for? I've read about the sludge build up in the valve covers 97' , I checked and it seemed clean.

Or 97' GS 300 for $21000. and 59000 miles. Back bumper is a little nicked up, but the rest of the car is in great shape.

Any responses would be appreciated.

hello,

there are few things that you could do:

1. run the carfax check to verify title. sometimes guys here have 1-month access, and they often help someone who request it..

2. look for serial number stickers on ALL body panels...if there was any fender bender, a new panel would not ahve the original factory serial sticker.

97 gs300 ~$20500

if i were you, i would save up few more thousand and look for a 98(current style) gs300 instead. a friend of mine sold his 98gs300(65kmiles) for ~$23500 few months back. now that the 02s have arrived, you should be able to find a 98 gs300 at $22-24k. need to be patient on pre-onwed car shopping.
