Replacing headlight housings and bulbs, help!

When an HID starts to look purple, does that mean the bulb is getting ready to go out? This just happened to me this morning and noticed one side of the car wasn't as bright. I got off, looked at the lights and the passengers side was purple looking...nowhere near the look of the other bulb which was the same color as they always are when on.
If the bulb needs replacing, what model # are the factory bulbs for my 98 GS4?

i thought about the jdm anniversary lights, but someone else brought up an important point... they are set up for a RHD car, meaning the alignment and cutoff will be opposite of that on a LHD car. there isn't enough manual adjustment in the lights to correct it, and the cutoff will blind opposing traffic
