Default Lexus GS400 or Infiniti G35 ?

Here is the deal. I owned a 1993 Sc400 for 4 years, loved the car. Sold it.
I wanted to get a GS400 after that but i found an awesome deal on a 2003 G35 4 door auto.

As far as performance they are pretty similar I think, even though GS makes more power and it s v8. G35 is not as refined as Lexus is but overall its not bad. Also i do notice that my G35 takes more gas then my v8 SC400 did. What you guys get for gas mileage on the GS400s?

Im sure GS400 will have a nicer interior and the v8 will sound sweeter.
They both should be about the same as far as speed I think.
How do you guys think these cars compare to each other?

IMO, i wouldn't buy a car already fixed up.. it's like driving someone else's car. nothing more rewarding than doing it yourself.

with that opinion aside,
LEXUS all the way!!

I don't need biased statements but honest opinions on how these two would compare.

im getting 16mpg mixed driving, 04 GS430.

i dont even lay into it that often, coming from a stop light the trans shifts at about 3,000rpm's in 1st, about 2700 in 2nd, and probably about 2500 in 3rd

the g35 gets a sweet 21mpg in the city though - if i could go back in time and get the g35, the decision is pretty obvious...

....GS430 without a doubt!

GS400:
How many miles? What year? What price?

I 35:
Milage, Price?

If milage on I 35 is low <50K vs '98 GS400 with >100K for about same price, i'd go with I35 other than that GS400 all the way

I really like the new G35.. The price seems right and for the money you get alot of added features.. but then again theres nothing like having that 4.0 liter under the hood.. Lexus......

Stock G35 has a more solid platform than a stock Gs400. The "FM" platform is shared with the 350z and feels rock solid compared to a stock Gs400. Drive both cars, and you will find out quickly. The G35's closest competitor is the BMW 3 series. It is meant to be a Japanese 3 series. If you want sportiness over luxury out of the box, then the G35 is your ride. Between the two out of all honesty, I would go with the G35. More solid, great brakes, newer design, excellent motor (VQv6),reclining rear seats, more fun to drive I would get a stock one instead of the one you posted. I love the coupe more than the sedan though.
