need help buying springs
As the title says I need some input. I'm about to purchase some lowering springs and want to make sure I pick the right ones. I have searched and I did not find what I was looking for, so here goes.
Wheels: 19x8.5 w/ +42mm offset
What I'm looking for: I just want the wheel gap to be as minimal as possible with no rubbing. I don't really care about keeping the ride "floaty".
Right now I have the stock 16's w/ stock suspension on, will 19's w/ 245/35-19 tires be the same OD as the 16's they are replacing? If so It looks like I need a 3" drop in front and like a 2" drop in the rear. If all I want to do is get springs what are the best springs for what I'm looking for?
Thank you very much for the help,
Chris

I don't think there are any springs out there that offer a 3" drop. Tanabe DF210's are probably offer the lowest drop of all the aftermarket springs that are currently out there.
Here's a link to Tanabe's application chart for the DF210's.

If you want more of a drop, coilovers are your best bet.

Would the Tanabe DF210's cause rubbing if that's the only thing I did to the suspension based on the wheels listed above? The website says "The DF210 line of springs enhance the appearance by lowering the vehicle 2~2 1/2in (50~60mm)"
Why the 1/2" difference in drop reguarding the same spring?

With a 2 1/2" drop and the wheel specs you have given me..I'd have to say, no - I don't think rubbing will be an issue. My brother has those wheel specs and he's got more than a 3" drop and the only rubbing he's encountered is when he's backing out of the drive way and the wheel is turned all the way to the right, it slightly rubs the inner, plastic lining of the fender well.
