i dont think there is a "best" intake for the gs400, just depending on which one you think looks the best. basically, i think an intake is just an intake, you'll only get +or- a couple of hp which you wont be able to feel. just my opinion.

Either the SRT intake or Weapon R/Apex'i combo...

Using the WeaponR intake, you are going to have tune it using the Apex'i S-AFC. While with the SRT, it comes with a ECU upgrade. I have heard, of this board, that the Weapon R/Apex'i combo yields more power, but I am not positive.

Thanks MikeGS4PE & SilverGSguy for your reply. Swift is selling their intake and ecu for 525. I might drive down there for my installation.

Honestly, I have had a bad experience with Weapon-R. They have me the wrong intake and then they didn't give me the right equipment. Their intake also had unnessesary "holes". Also, their filters are rather bad. I'm not a big fan of foam element filters also. I'd go for the A'pexi filter for sure. Hope I helped.

I just got the SRT intake about 2 weeks ago, and my buttdynometer says, <grunt>more torque, me like<grunt>.

I also has the TC done FWIW.

The older discussions of 'whistling' is a nonissue on mine - Mo has gone with a bigger AFE filter which quiets things down a little.

The intake really magnifies the beautiful engine notes for sure.

You would have enjoyed dropping by the shop!

No offense, but you obviously haven't ridden or driven a G4 with the SRT ecu/intake. If you had you would retract that statement.

Def go with the SRT. With the ECU upgrade, it will give u more hp than the RMM intake (which i bought back when there was nothing else to buy). One thing I was wondering though....Would a blitz filter fit on the end of the SRT intake? that would look hot. see the GS400 pics I posted a last week to see a pic of it.

Default Intake "special"

I bought mine about a month ago direct from the website - you'll find the $525 price listed in a "specials" section - you're right, it still is shown at the higher price in the intake section. BTW, agree with fever - the difference is NOTICEABLE - does it feel like the 30hp or so claimed? Who the **** cares - it kicks ***!

You can install the intake/ECU within an hour. $150 for installation is definitely over-priced.
