Borla works fine. In fact, I prefer the sound of Borla to the L-tuned. The L-tuneds aren't loud or as aggressive as the Borla.

I have an RX300 with an exhaust tip. It's awesome. I was looking for the same effect as you, little sound when you don't wanna hear it, and a lot when you do. Basically same effects as what you're explaining.

maybe before you get an exhaust (i dont know if you have an A or M) try a tip....not just a pipe thing, get one that has some noise-making-looking objects inside! I love mine...although I want to take off everything from the Headers back and put on a straight pipe with a muffler, i don't like the automatic exhaust sound...

enjoy

I don't want an exhaust for the sound. The sound is always secondary to me. I rather make my car perform better first. Sound, I just always want to make sure that it is not too loud. I don't want to hear it at all while cruizing.

Am I mistaken, or is the L-Tuned only an axleback, and not a complete exhaust?

I like the quite exhausts too. Thats actually perform a reason. They have special things that you can put on your exhaust to make it sound like you have a supercharger and stuff. Geez

i also heard that adding intake to the gs430 causes the O2 censors to go out like crazy, as well as start some other problems to commence. Anyone heard anything about this and also if i get the srt intake for my 01 gs430 how much is it gonna run and how hard is the install....

Thanks, I sent you a PM before.

The install is not hard at all. You just have to remove a few things, and sotter in the SRT Ecu. It will take you longer to connect those wires, than anything else, but it is straight forward really. I don't know about it messing up your O2 sensors. I mean a lot of people have this intake, so I think it would be a huge deal if that was the case.

the K&N makes about 10whp. Some people have noted that they dont notice much of a difference when they took off their K&N to replace it with an SRT. What you can do is get yourself an SAFCII and have your car dyno tuned. It'll end up costing about the same as the SRT, but you'll have the SAFC to tune your whole car in conjunction with other mods you might have. Fine tuning can result in awesome power gain (at least another 10whp). the SRT is fine for those who just want to drop in their intake and not have to worry about getting the car on the dyno and tuning. It makes more power than the K&N stock for stock because it has the ECU to comphensate for tuning.

For me, I want the fine tuning so I'm going to go with an SAFC in the future. It really helps to tune when you have multiple mods on your car as each car will be different.
