Question Windshield wiper problems

Maybe it's just me, but has anyone else noticed what a pain in the a$$ the windshield wipers are to work around when you are washing your car? Mine barely touch the end of the hood when I lift them up, so now I have little spots where the paint is rubbed away on the hood.

Did you know that you can pull the wiper arm up (meaning up the winshield) then you can easily lift them up. Hard to explain...but it is in the manual.

The purpose from memory is that in areas that snow you do not want the arm to go all the way down since it would be obstructed by snow it just cleaned away. Thus, there is a receeded mode and ??? mode.

If you don't have the manual let me know and I'll go look into mine.

stand on the drivers side of the car facing the wipers grab the drivers side wiper and pull up in the angle your winsheild goes in..now pull hard....CLICK (it's a really scary CLICK...almost like you broke it CLICK...but it's OK) Now both your wipers are in the winter position

When you're done doing whatever you're doing with the wipers just push the drivers side one down again..CLICK...back in summer position.
