How hard is it to modify the radio area to fit a flip out head unit? I think it's possible, but is it worth the work? Has anyone here done it!? I have the radio without the navigation screen in an '03 Gs.

It's easy. Just buy a stereo installation dash kit for your car. You should be able to find them pretty easily on ebay (much cheaper $15-20) or your local car audio shop (more expensive) can order it for you. This is only the dash installation side of the equation.

As for wiring the headunit to your stock amplifier....I'm not too sure about that because I removed all my stock audio components(headunit, amp, cd player, sub, speakers) and replaced everything to aftermarket. My setup goes directly from the CarpPC to the amplifier

Either way, if you goto a competent shop they should be able to wire it all up for you. If you're planning to do it yourself...I'll see if I can dig up some diagrams or something to help you out.

Why go flip out single din when you're capable of a double din?

yeap look at the eclipse double din *nice*! im thinkin bout it! but then im spendin all my chedda on beefing up the suspension at the time most important aspect to me, and as for utilizin the stock amp its simple most AFM radios have a blue Turn on power wire just wire that to the Turn on of the stock amp and ur set if u just want to replace the headunit.
