Nicely done... I'm gonna give it a shot since I can't dish out the loot for JP tails right now

The first time, it was done by my cousin when he owned the car (long time ago). Because there was no clear coat or baking involved, the tint became dull over time. At first it looked great. OEM like. When he took the car to Lexus, they thought it was OEM. The techs couldn't tell the difference. After awhile (when I bought the car), the tint had already become dull looking.

We decided to re-do the taillight tint. This time, we baked the taillights after we sprayed them. You have to clean the taillight REALLY well before you do this. Any particles on the taillight and you'll get texture and bumps.

After spraying the taillight evenly, make sure you let it dry before you spray on clear coat. If you decide to heat it, bake it after you spray it. The baking lets the tint settle in. It lets the tint last much longer. It's been almost 7 months now since the last spray and it still looks OEM.
How did you bake it? How long did you bake it? What temperature? Did you just heat the oven up and turn it off and THEN put the lights in to just bake it?

Did you also put clearcoat on the WHOLE lens? Or just the part that was sprayed? I'm guessing the whole lens as it would give it a "level" surface? If so anybody willing to post the red candy spray paint they use? I'll pay you whatever it costs?

Want to get this done now for a slightly different look from the norm! . Save me buying a set of clear LED lights - which I'm not too fond off and I am NOT spending $900 plus on JP tails.

I got the same results with the candy colored film for a couple more dollars and only 5 minutes of time.

I have my gs4 done spray candy apple red over the hole tail light, let it dry and clear coat
then let it dry or you could bake . the important part is make sure you buff your
tail lights if you want that deep gloss shine. buffing is very important part.
when I have time I will take pics of it.
