Default Where are all the older GS owners?

I am 58, and as Grandpa Simpson says, "it'll happen to you....."

I think that the ages in this poll show, perhaps, that younger drivers are more apt to mod and want to compare notes with other modders, and more apt to use the net to do that. Maybe most older Lexus owners aren't car enthusiasts or don't use computers much, not sure. I suppose that your average older Lexus owner isn't interested in mods either - I am. I enjoy reading about what you have done to your cars and value the large amount of information available on this site.

I think our cars are a great combination of quality, luxury and performance. My car satisfies my needs for those things, but only for now - I want a LS 460 and then a LS 600. Hope I live long enoug to afford them. Going to the Chicago autoshow this week to look at some dreams.

And age is a state of mind anyway. I've known dull stiff boring 20 somethings that act like old tired men. I'm 51, drive fast enough to get 7 moving violations in two years (bad luck mostly), spend most of my life gambling, and travelling with my younger GF, and drove home tonite after two tough hours of racquetball with Green Day cranked at full volume. I'm not trying to act younger, I just do what I like.

And one of the things I really really really like is my GS!! And I'd have liked it 30 years ago when I drove a Volvo P1800 sports coupe, and I'll still like it in 30 years when I'm 81.

I totally agree with GB...saying that you should get an IS because you are too young for GS sounds immature.....who cares how old you are? I am 23 was 22 when I got my GS4, used to drive may parents's infiniti Q45's before that. I would never base my car buying decision on the image that the car portrays....if I were to win the lotto tomorrow, two cars I would run out and buy would be the Audi S8 and the Maserati Quattroporte, both of which would probably be considered 'old man cars'. I like the GS for the performance, the styling, quality, no offense to IS owners but I would take a GS over an IS any day (previous generation that is, which is in the price range of my 98 GS4)...based on the factors I previously mentioned. Forget what your friend says and forget about buying a car in your age range, drive whatever you can afford and you love.

p.s. I am 23 yr old male environmental engineering student, Guyanese background, born and raised in Canada. I had been a fan of the GS for yrs, as I'm sure most car enthusiasts in our age are. Just took a while for us to be able to afford a used one....just like I'm sure once cars like the G35 coupe, IS350, infiniti FX, etc. will be popular with people in their early 20's once they depreciate enough to be affordable.

I have had my 99GS400 for less than 2 years but I wanted one since 1999 but couldn't afford it then because I have never owned a car that I did not pay cash.

Im 19, but i think the poll isnt really correct for all gs300. cuz most younger people go on CL forums because they are interested in modifying and all that. so i think the range is probably around mid-40ish.
