eric,

my 93 ls400 has over 200k miles on it and the telescopic steering wheel still works like a charm. but weird tho, the LS has a button for you to press to either enable or disable the telescopic. funny how the GS doesn't have that button.

Uhm, hate to bring up an OOOOOLLLLD thread, but I found this on ebay while glancing through an Aristo JDM search

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-T...spagenameZWDVW

in particular this pic:

I guess in japan its just the touch of a button on the GS's. To me it would be another button to play with.

Pretty much ALL bunch of the 98-99 GS's I've worked on have the squeaky tilt wheel. I might get a chance to take one apart sometime next week to see if I can fix it. Possibly post up a DIY as well

Default There is a DYI For this!!

There is already a DYI posted on Club Lexus for the tilt wheel motor repair.

I have performed this DIY and it is all good for getting your tilt function working again.

Actually, only 93-94 GS have the on/off switch. Starting 95 and newer, Lexus removed it.

I don't know about you guys but I love the telescoping feature. Every time someone gets in the car for the first time, they start freaking out and say how cool that is. I'm like yea its a Lexus.... haha
