Default PIAA LED 9005 bulbs for high beam ... DRL?

Hey guys.

PIAA has released the TERA LED bulbs a while ago.

I'm interested to see what will happen if we put these bulbs in for the high beam. If they run at 1/2 voltage for the DRLs, what would happen? Will they light up as dim LEDs? or they just won't light up at all? Very very interesting. Anyone tried?

Someone needs to try this....I no longer want to be guiney pig on LEDs....LOL

Halogen 9005 bulbs are normally 65 watts....even at 1/2% power for DRL....it will be no problem to light up.

I think those inventors probably thought about the wattage issue and the point is moot.

Someone tried these and they are barely visible in the daytime unless the highbeams are on.

That is a good thing, because most people would rather have the DRLs gone or near invisible. Having 2 glowing reddish/orangish/yellowish DRLs really take away from the beauty of the GS.

Why spend $100 to have your DRLS nearly off and your highbeam not work when you can unplug them for free Also when they are run at 1/2 voltage they slightly flicker

These LED bulbs will not work for high beams? Why not?

Simply unplugging the high beam bulbs will trigger dash warning lights. I'm actually working on the DRL fuse mod right now to disable DRL while still keeping high beam functionality.

So you've tried these and know that they flicker at 1/2 voltage? That sucks, do you have pictures of it?
