Trade in My BMW 328 for a GS 300
I owned a 92 ES 300 before than sold it and bought a 99 328I from my friend's cousin a month ago. I like it, but I feel more comfortable and more reliable with Lexus.
Now, I want to trade my BMW for a 98 GS 300. The price for the 98 GS 300 is $24000 with 43K miles. Is it a good deal? But I don't how much the dealer will give me for my BMW. Is it a good deal? Any opinion about 98 GS 300? Any suggestion in this trade? Should I get an extended warranty if I get the 98 GS 300?
Thanks a lot guys
Jason

jas,
$24k for the gs300 is reasonable. but, as you said, how about your trade? check with www.kbb.com for trade-in values.
in general, 98gs300 is very reliable, but i would ty to get some warranty from www.warrantygold.com
also check for all serial # stickers on all body panels, adn verify www.carfax.com and service records.

Thanks for your advice, I will take my car to the dealer once I receive my title.
Is Lexus maint. cost a lot cheaper than BMW? I have just changed all 4 OEM brake pads for my BMW, it costs me $260.00. Also, any major problems with 98 GS 300?

JAS,
3 weeks ago I bought a 98 GS300 with 32,000 miles. They were asking $31k for it and all I had to trade was a 94 Thunderbird with dents dings, a real POS. I wanted to get $1000 for the T-Bird. Well they wouldn't come down on the $31k for GS but they ended up giving me $5k on trade-in. So the GS ended up being about $27,000 with a 6yr/100k mile warranty. The GS was in absolute beautiful condition.

Hello there, I wouldnt get the 300 for 24k unless its in immaculate condition and the color you always wanted. I got my Pearl White 400! with 65k for 25k now you do the math. I would definitely get rid of the 328i bimmer and hopefully youll get around 20k for it or whatever and just shopt around for a nice preowned gs400, and do not be afraid of high mileage for this car, these cars are made to go LONG DISTANCE if you know what I mean.
