Default NSX for GS400, questions for you experts

HI, I'm new to this forum and nice to meet you all!
There're 2 GS400 in my area for sale, and now I'm kinda thinking trading in my modded '91 NSX for one of them simply because my NSX is getting old and I want something not only fast, but comfortable. I was thinking getting the new E46 M3 instead of GS400, but the waiting list for E46 M3 is over 1 year in my area!
Therefore, I think I'll settle my second choice GS400 which is still an awesome car that fills my need.
Here are some quick questions for you guys:
1. What mods needs to be done to run 13 sec 1/4 for GS4?
2. Is there big difference between GS400 and GS430? performance wise.
3. What do you think is the best bodykit for GS4 w/o too showy look, I like something simple. Any pictures would be great!

With all the mods I have I can only run 14 flat. If you're looking into 13 sec, super charger is the only way.

Samw HP but 30 more TQ for 430.

RMM has the more conservative style body kit.

Wait a minute there big guy! There's only a 15 ft. lbs. of torque difference! Come on now don't try and short change us 98-2000 GS4 owners! Anyway, go with the GS, you absolutely positively will not be dissapointed! Take it from a previous owner of a 300ZX TT, a Supercharged COBRA (430 hp!) and a 3000GT VR4! The GS400 definitely fits the bill!

Oops, Sorry about the wrong TQ number. I thought that's the reason it's called "GS430" due to the 30 extra ft.lb.

If I'm not mistaken the "430" is for the new displacement, "4.3" for both the GS430 & the LS430.

1) http://www.swiftracing.com for all your mod needs.

2) gs400 & gs430 will run same speed if im not mistaken. The only big differences that I know off are the 4.3 engine for gs430 and the 430 lacks those nice little buttons that we all love on the steering wheel

3) I love L-Spotrtsline, but RMM will be the bodykit you are looking for! Check the gallery!

TC Stands for Torque Converter....I'd go for the m3 used...power to weight ratio is rediculous...I can understand the want for more room comming from the nsx though. I saw a 2001 with 8k miles on ebay go for $54k

performance wise you get 15 extra torque on the gs430, but then you don't get the e-shift (manual electronic shift) option that almost all GS400 owners love!!!

I would go with a used GS400, and RMM kit does look good, but I like veilside sides and rear.

For mods, like they said you would have to do a supercharger for 13 1/4, but if you just get a SRT TC and a SRT HFI/ECU (from swiftracing.com) then you should be fine...you can add the TRD LSD and supra TT brake kit and some suspension/handling mods too if you want.

Default Wait a minute guys....

I've quoted guys here on CL that have ran high 13's stock by just taking out the spare. If I recall it was someone making a bet that they couldn't do it and a few people said to take the bet because they have done it themselves...does this ring a bell for anyone? Besides, I remember percy saying he was running a flat 5 second 0-60 on just light wheels, intake and torque master spark plugs.

E46 M3 is surely nice, but I don't know, I guess I love the GS4 too much now especially after reading some msg on this forum.
High 13 for stock GS4, flat 5 0-60 for a slightly modded GS4 are kinda hard to believe. That's ALMOST as fast as the E46 M3!
Anyways, I'll check out one 2000 silver/gray and another 1998 blk/blk GS400 hopefully tomorrow. I personally think gray interior is a bit tacky and kinda dirty looking, but the price and mileage of both cars are so close so I guess I might still go with the newer model. Which one would u go?

The difference between the 1998 and the 2000 model is the emission controls system and the braking. The 2000 model has more stringent emissions control system. The 1998 a little faster and will give you more of and instant pull while accelerating. If you want smoother acceleration you might want to go with the 2000 model. You will notice this after test driving both cars.

Hell, if you're going to mod the car, you might as well mod the brakes too...you can upgrade to Supra TT brakes for around $700...for the big boys, you can go to AP Racing or Brembo ($2600-$4000)
