I've been looking to get a Spectra Blue GS400 for awhile now. Though I need these 3 requirements

1) Spectra Blue with BLACK interior

2) Needs to come with NAV

3) NO WING !

Is there any reason why there are so many blue with beige interior rather than black? Did lexus make the blue/black combo rare? If so why?!

Also did lexus make more of some colors and less than others? Or is it a supply and demand. I am doing an inspector gadget type of routine and so far I either get #1 and #2 but it has a wing ! Or #2 and #3 but it comes with beige interior!


I've been to a few dealer auctions recently and blue is so RARE.

DMan - I don't haveany answers for you except to concur that the Blue is indeed rare, but, you already knew this.

It definitely has the eye appeal though. I still feel like I get a lot of looks when driving around, esp at the dealer. When I first started looking, my local dealer couldn't find one throughout the entire national Lexus dealer network. Good Luck.

I was looking for the Spectra Blue as well, but I settled for the Cinnabar Pearl. The Spectra Blue was only made in 1998 and the new 2001 models, I think. I may be wrong though. But I know that a spectra blue with Black Interior is going to be hard to find. Usually, most of the spectra blue colors come with Ivory interior. That's all the ones that I found when looking for used. Hope that helps, and good luck in finding one!!!!!

Spectra Blue was available 98-2000. Only 6% of GS's were made in this color, and about 1/3 of those had black interior. I had to settle for ivory interior after 4 months with 3 dealerships trying to find me a blue/black one.

It was hard to find a blue one. Now when anyone see's a felow blue GS they think they saw me. I'm like ...I don't have the only Blue GS in Cali. If black theather is your thing...try reapolstery. If anyone wants a blue GS spoiler swap..I'm down.

When I was at a local Lexus dealer, a corporate rep was there and the salesman had him tell me how rare the spectra blue was. He was just trying to talk me into a silver one.

I know EXACTLY how I want to setup my spectra blue, the problem is FINDING my requirements

Even though I want it bad, I would never buy a car online. Its too risky, espicially on EBAY. Yes, they do have safety precautions BUT forking over thousands of $$$ without even seeing the car in person is risky business!

Oh well, the seach continues......................

It took me a while to find a blue/tan no wing and this combo is easier to find than what you want.

I feel lucky. I've got the Spectra Blue (and unfortunately with the Ivory interior) GS 300. It is an awesome color. And I didn't have to preorder it or anything. Just went in to the dealership when I was looking, and they had it on the showroom floor. They had just put it on the floor that day. Bought it (should say leased it) that day.

Good luck on it. I hope that in the next gen GS that they bring the blue color back. I used to be iffy on the color, but now I'm pretty sure that my next car, whatever it is, will be blue.
