I suggest search please.
Platinum was offered in 2000, GS 300/400. SD was offered I believe 2002-2004 in GS 300 only.

When it comes to Lexus the Platinum and the sport series did not do much too the car. Like with mercedes with their AMG and BMW with their M cars, so i guess i would just pick the regular old GS and then do some mods too it.

a platinum series GS is like an BMW M? M's have alot of differences is style and speed. Does the GS?

Not really but the new Lexus-F cars are really going to compete with the AMG and M cars of the world.

I think the thread is about styling package, not engine model...right?

BINGO! Plat for the win, even though I personally don't care for the lighter wood and perf seats.

SD's look great but it sucks they never got a V8.....
If they had made a V8 SD, it'd be a winner.

Guys please use search, this has been discussed many times.

Platinum was a partnership deal with AMEX, people who bought them actually also got AMEX and a couple other goodies.
Includes badging in black pearl, different 16" wheels polished, badging on the fenders and a lighter color wood.

SD GS 300 only, black pearl badging, greywood in 2002-2003, different shiftknob, chrome grill, darker colored wheels.
In 2004 it included dark tint headlights, different badging in the front fender and you did not get blackwood. Also could get a SD Crystal white/black leather.
