Just bought a 00 gs4. need help replacing stock amp with kicker one......
ok i just bought a 2000 gs400 but the stock amp was takinout so i hav no sound... i just bout a new kicker amp but i need to know the wire diagram or something....... i really just need to know what color the ground, remote and power wire is.

We all wish it was that simple, its not.
The factory amp is also a digital sound processor. This digitally controls the balance,fader,sub cut-off freq, basically everything but the master volume. The CD player also connects directly to the amp!
My advice would be to keep the factory amp in the system and use line convertors to reduce the level of the output of the factory amp so this signal goes to the input of your kicker amp.
If you look at the diagrams below, the radio connects directly to the amp and has only a simple balanced L & R output (+ and -), the radio also sends a digital signal to the amp via the BUS+ and BUS- lines to change the fader/balance etc..

thanks alot, but the only reason i want to use the kicker is because i bought the car without the cd player or the amp... so u know that means i have no music and i have to drive 400 miles tommoro so i need to kno how to do this today....

Might be able to find someone selling his complete stock system for cheap.

First off, for a non factory amp its not that clean cut. Have you ever done this before?

There is also the issue of connecting to the stock wiring for the speakers. Did you check to see if you even have any speakers there? Since you mentioned that the previous owner apparently had a aftermarket system, he may have taken the speakers with him.

hahah i went to the lexus dealership today and the guy there emailed me that same diagram.... quick question.... if the sub isint present will anything be affected? o and btw the speakers are still there

we can do that.... i have nakamachi. i want to keep everything stock axcept the amp since i already bought that kicker one, unless u wanna trade.
im usually good with installing car stereo equipment but this is stumpin me. do you kno who can install every thing for me?

just stumpled upon one of my old posts..... it turns out you can replace the stock amp with an aftermarket amp using the same wiring... the wire diagram helps alot...i have a rockford fosgate p4001 powering my speakers
