Ray,

Gives APEXi USA a call. Perhaps we could have a groupbuy on APEXi air filter. HAHA.

I read somewhere that the APEXI's intake is the best one out there. I also want to know if that will fit my SRT HFI.

I have an Apexi Filter on my 5s-fe. I had to make an adapter on my intake to have it on my intake. Anyways, I read that it was the best out of MANY japanese filters. They tested it against the SARD filter, Blitz filter, GReddy filter, and HKS filter. The HKS filter tested as the worst.

Default I'm in

If there's a group buy I'm in. However, A'Pex-I doesn't intend to make a kit nor intends to for any ofthe GS models. I'm assuming we are going to order the universal filter and make adapters from parts at the hardware store.

CamryRR,

The HKS filter is not the worse... in terms of airflow it should be the best. However, you're going to have lots of sludge in the engine because I don't think that mushroom filters dirt all that well.

There was a test comparing various air filter, K&N, HKS, Blitz, APEXi and others. APEXi produces the most power gain and the filtering of Blitz is pretty bad.

v300,

Yes, it's gonna be the universal one.

what I'm trying to find out is what the APEXi filter replacement comes with. I think it's just the filter. However in Japan there are universal kits where there's 1 filter and an adaptor to make it fit on 3 sizes of piping: 80mm, 75mm, and 70mm.

So either I'll have to get the APEXi kit and find out which of the 80/75/70mm will fit on my RMM pipe, or find out if my Blitz adaptor will work on the APEXi filter (probably not.)

so anyone knows the diameter of the intake pipe on the RMM intake? What's that in mm?

I had plans to get the limited edition filter from Japan but they're all sold out.......

2Lexos,

Did you have your intake custome fabricated? I may take my car to XS and ask them to make me one. That would be my last step.

I don't have the mushroom filter. I have the Apex'i filter and it's a cotten element filter. Those foam element filters are crap. As for the article, it was on a japanese web site that tested the filters out. The HKS filter got the worst OVERALL rating out of the filters. It may have done better than others on certain things, but over all, it didn't do well. Just my $0.02

*EDIT* DO'H!!!! I should have read the rest of the posts. Now I look like an idiot... dangit... Hehe. Anyways, the guys summed it up.

The only thing that was added was the actual filter and heat shield but from there back to the engine is all stock. They make a custom bracket to fit the filter.
